Cowboy Bebop’s Faye Valentine is an integral member of the team despite her habit of disappearing. Previously a criminal on the run, she has yet to totally cease her less legal tendencies. She also has a somewhat rough exterior, flirting with men to get what she wants, but bickering with those who are close to her. However, none of these elements have stopped her from being recognized as waifu material.

Faye has understandable reasons for her behavior, which stems from a history of being abandoned. She pushes against others and leaves periodically to try to prove their dedication to her. While not a healthy way to go about building relationships, it does inspire sympathy for Faye. She is also always there when it matters, patching up Spike Siegel after he returns from bounties. As long as one can be patient with Faye’s tests, she is a desirable partner.

Shoko Nishimiya is the dandere co-star of the dramatic anime movie A Silent Voice. She is a kindhearted and compassionate person who always sees the best in others and will forgive anything, which greatly impressed anime fans, considering all she's been through. Shoko’s kindness is enough of a reason on her own to like her, but she also has proven to be exceptionally forgiving.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans’ initial impressions of Utahime Iori revolved around her argumentative relationship with Gojo Satoru. In typical Gojo fashion, he seemed to almost effortlessly rile Utahime up, inspiring her to bite something back at him, as well as to remind Gojo to respect his elders. However, once more time is spent with Utahime, it becomes clear that she is actually a fairly calm presence when not being actively provoked.

Utahime’s care for her students is demonstrated through her willingness to charge into battle to ensure safety. Her demeanor may sometimes be a bit austere, but her good intentions always shine through, revealing her true character. Utahime’s ability to enhance the abilities of those around her is also interesting, drawing even more attention to her. Rebecca Lee, better known as Revy, is the sole female member of Black Lagoon’s Lagoon Company. As can be expected as someone who acts as a hirable pirate for a living, Revy can be quite crass. She tends to push people away through harsh words, and more physical means if they don’t take the hint. Revy’s sarcasm is also biting, aiming to hurt others more than to get a laugh out of them. She also takes a long while to trust others.

Much of Revy’s behavior stems from the childhood abuse she suffered, leading to her pushing others away by any means necessary to avoid getting hurt again. However, Revy is a very capable character, which has won over many fans despite all of her flaws. Holo from Spice & Wolf is a wolf spirit who doesn't take life too seriously, which is perfect for a character in a fun fantasy romance anime. She's always teasing Lawrence, the series' protagonist, as well as convinces Lawrence to buy her alcohol and food by flirting with him. Holo is a classic hiyakasudere, so she loves bantering and poking fun at the people she cares about.

However, Holo's generally cheerful and lighthearted personality shouldn't be mistaken as naivety. She's a wolf goddess, after all, so she has five centuries' worth of wisdom in her arsenal. Holo constantly makes fun of Lawrence because she's been around the block enough times to know that his negotiating skills could use a lot of work. Holo’s intelligence is one of the reasons that anime fans are interested in her, as well as the fact that she is playful.

26 Darkness Is a Goofy Yet Noble Crusader Fighting for Kazuma's Team

Despite Her Realtive Ineffectiveness in Battle, Her Values Are Worth Acknowledging

The parody isekai anime Konosuba has some of isekai's wackiest waifus of all, including the explosion-loving Megumin and the goofy, juvenile goddess Aqua. However, these two aren’t the only characters that viewers have had their eyes on. While fans mostly like Aqua for her good looks and Megumin for her personality, Darkness (or Dustiness Ford Lalatina) is the most well-rounded of all.

Darkness may be an ineffective crusader and paladin warrior, but she still has a noble, heroic heart and values her new friends deeply. She is also a relatively responsible and idealistic fantasy adventurer and, as a noble-born girl, really knows how to dress up for an evening ball. Now anime fans can see more of Darkness in action in the third and newest season of Konosuba, which is currently airing in the Spring 2024 anime season.
