The Dirge of Bilqis World Quest needs to be completed to unlock Genshin Impact’s new underground areas added in version 3.4, and we’re here to guide you through it. This quest can only be started after you’ve finished the Golden Slumber questline, as it’s a direct continuation.

Wisdom Has Built Her House, She Has Hewn Out Her Seven Pillars

Talk to Katheryne in Sumeru City to start up the quest. She’ll give you a letter from Jeht that’ll point you in the direction of the Tanit tribe camp found at the edge of the Desert of Hadramaveth map expansion. Approach the canyon next to the new Statue of the Seven to trigger a scene.

Speak with other members of the tribe while you wait for Jeht to return. After having conversations with the first three men, you’ll meet Matriarch Babel. She’ll explain that she approved your invitation just as Jeht arrives.

Jeht will ask for some help with a task, so go back to Yuften to proceed. Report back to Yuften after you’ve fed the crocodiles and learned more about Jeht’s new life with the Tanit tribe. Return to the upper level of the camp to give the crocodile meat to Aderfi, then head to Jeht’s place after the errands are done.

Jeht will explain that the reason she invited you here is to go on another expedition of sorts. You’ll be traveling to the center of this desert to find the Eternal Oasis.

Completion Rewards:

  • x30 Primogems
  • x2 Hero’s Wit
  • x200 Adventure EXP
  • x20,000 Mora

The Temple Where Sand Flows Like Tears

The first step in reaching the Eternal Osis is finding a Jinni who may know about the desert’s past. Head west, toward the first Teleport Waypoint at The Temples Forsaken. Continue along the path to reach the temple’s gate.

A man named Azariq will be there waiting to brief you on your objective. He’s here to guide the group through the temple. To get inside, hit the glowing Rune Mechanism at the foot of the stairs. It’ll blow away the sand covering the switch.

Anemo characters won’t be able to blow away sand near Rune Mechanisms, so you actually do need to use them.

Continue down the main path in the temple until you reach a large room. The goal here is to blow the sand away from the main structure in the middle of the room. Press the blue device next to Azariq to trigger a scene, then touch the pyramid-like structure in the middle of the room.

Now, you’ll need to go through three separate doors to activate the other three large Rune Mechanisms in the room. Hit the active Rune Mechanism twice to clear the sand from the switch behind it. Activate the switch to open the door, then follow the path until you reach a Teleport Waypoint.

Walk through the doorway on the right side of the room and hit the Rune Mechanism twice to clear the sand from a switch. Flip the switch, then hit the Rune Mechanism twice again to set it back to its original direction.

Now, head over to the opposite side of the room, to the left of the entrance. Use the Rune Mechanism to uncover the switch and open the door. Interact with the device behind the barrier. This will lock the original entrance and open up a new side path. Go through the new path to progress.

Hit the next Rune Mechanism twice to uncover another switch and open a large door. There’s a huge hole in the floor inside the next room, and you just need to float down to the bottom of it to proceed – the other pathways and doors are optional right now.

You can choose to defeat the Red Vulture enemy perched near the ceiling to unlock the Precious Chest in this room.

Follow the path past the Fungi enemies to return to the room with the large Rune Mechanisms inside. The quest markers will keep you on track. When you make it back, approach the center structure to trigger a short scene.

You know the drill by now – hit the newly activated large Rune Mechanism to clear the sand on both the main pyramid structure and the switch near the next doorway.

Go through the doorway to find a slightly modified wind puzzle. Move the Rune Mechanism along the track, then hit it three times to clear the sand. Follow the quest marker until you reach another Teleport Waypoint room similar to the previous one.

Start on the right side of the room again. Move the Rune Mechanism along the rails, then hit it to clear the sand on the switch. Flip the switch and hit the mechanism again to have it blow wind through the open pane.

advertisem*nt

Go to the left side of the room now. Move the Rune Mechanism there to get it closer to the sand covering the doorway. Interact with the main device behind the barrier and you’ll open a new path to exit the room, just like last time.

Solve the simple rail wind puzzle in the next room to proceed, then continue to follow the quest marker to return to the main room. Hit the now-activated large Rune Mechanism to once again clear all nearby sand, then go through the next door. Two Primal Constructs will be waiting for you.

Once you’ve defeated the enemies, go to the left side of the room and move the Rune Mechanism to get through the next door. The next room houses another wind puzzle involving three Rune Mechanisms.

Only one mechanism will be active at first, and you’ll need to clear the sand from the two others. Follow these steps to solve the puzzle:

  • Hit the Rune Mechanism on the left to uncover a switch. Flip the switch.
  • Move the Rune Mechanism along the rail and hit it again to uncover the middle mechanism.
  • Move the middle Rune Mechanism, then hit it to uncover the mechanism on the right.
  • Move the Rune Mechanism on the right, then hit it to clear the sand from the door.

Completing the puzzle will make the room look like the image below. Head through the door to continue.

Activate the Teleport Waypoint in the next room and head up the stairs to the left. Hit the Rune Mechanism here twice to clear the sand from the switch. Interact with the switch to remove the floor. Float down and activate the device below.

Go back to the Teleport Waypoint and use the mechanism there to remove the sand covering another switch. This switch will open up the exit and allow you to return to the main room.

Hit the final large Rune Mechanism in the main room to remove the rest of the sand covering the pyramid structure. Touch the pyramid to trigger a scene where it rises up.

advertisem*nt

Before you leave the room, drop down below the pyramid to find a Luxurious Chest.

Exit the temple to see that much of the sand surrounding it has disappeared. Now, follow the quest marker until you get to an open field in front of a giant tree.

Make sure you have Dendro and Electro characters in your party because a Primal Construct boss will appear to block your path.

After you’ve won, pick up the bottle underneath the tree. It turns out that this is Tap to Reveal. Open the chest beneath the tree, then continue to follow the quest marker.

You’ll get attacked by Eremites soon after Jeht leaves the group, so be prepared for an ambush. After the battle, you’ll need to investigate three Eremite encampments inside a narrow canyon. The quest marker will show you where to find all three spots.

Leave the canyon and return to the Tanit camp after your little investigation. Report back to Babel with the info you found. After speaking with Babel, find Jeht and Azariq around the corner. The next long conversation with them will bring this part of the quest to a close.

Completion Rewards:

  • x50 Primogems
  • x3 Hero’s Wit
  • x400 Adventure EXP
  • x40,000 Mora
  • x6 Mystic Enhancement Ore

Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part I

Speak with Jeht and Azariq to continue on to the next part of the World Quest, then check in with Babel. Now, head to the Passage of Ghouls to the northeast – it’s time to make some real progress toward the Eternal Oasis.

advertisem*nt

Drop down below the Teleport Waypoint to trigger an ambush. Defeat the Fungi while dodging the underground Wenut to proceed. From here, the quest marker will lead you to a mysterious new mechanism.

Activate the mechanism to make sand flow, which will fill the giant Cascade Pool and open up a nearby door. These blue, glowing mechanisms are called Pipe Diverter Valves, and you’ll be seeing plenty of them here.

Follow the marked path through the door and activate the Pipe Diverter Valve on the edge of the cliff – doing this will unlock the ones below.

Now, drop down and activate the valve surrounded by Fungi. Activate it, then go inside the nearby room to find more devices that need to be adjusted to solve this puzzle.

Once inside, you’ll find the same cell device that appeared all throughout the Golden Slumber questline. Rotate the cell once to unlock another Pipe Diverter Valve – this one is also sitting next to where the Fungi were. Activate it, then interact with the next one at the new quest marker.

Head into the room you just unlocked to trigger a scene. Interact with the Pipe Diverter Valve at the back of the room to unlock the switch that opens the door. Two Primal Constructs and a puzzle will be waiting for you inside the next room.

Follow these steps to get through this room as quickly as possible:

  • Open up the barrier on the left using the book-like device in front of it.
  • Activate the Pipe Diverter Valve behind that barrier.
  • Activate the newly-unlocked Pipe Diverter Valve on the right side of the image above.
  • Rotate the cell on the right side of the room once.

advertisem*nt

After you’ve completed these steps, go to the right side of the room and take the elevator down to the lower level. The next room contains a similar puzzle.

Again, follow these steps to get through this room without wasting your time:

  • Activate the Pipe Diverter Valve.
  • Rotate the cell to the left of the valve to unlock the door on the right side of the room.
  • Interact with the Pipe Diverter Valve once again.
  • Rotate the cell on the right side of the room to unlock the switch for the exit door.

After you’ve completed these steps, hit the switch and follow the quest marker. Unlock the Teleport Waypoint along the way and keep going until you find a fragment of Liloupar.

Liloupar will now be able to clear certain obstacles for you as long as she has energy stored. Her energy can be replenished at Jinn Shrines found across the desert.

From here, follow the quest marker until you reach a room with a switch in the center. A new scorpion enemy will appear when you approach it, so be prepared for a fight. After you win, the switch will unlock. Hit it, then head through the door. Stay on the marked path and you’ll find another Pipe Diverter Valve to activate.

Float down and interact with the glowing, yellow mechanism at the center of the platform. Waves of Primal Constructs will start to appear, so you'll need to fight them to protect the mechanism.

Once the fight is over, follow the marker and choose to return to the surface. This part of the quest will end after another campfire scene.

Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part II

Go to the spot that Aariq mentioned to continue the quest – it’s on the west side of the Dunes of Steel. Enter the giant Ruin Golem through its arm to put Azariq’s plan into action. You’ll need to pick up gold, diamond-shaped crystals called Energy Blocks throughout this setion of the quest.

The first Energy Block is at the other end of the Ruin Golem’s arm passageway, shown in the image above. The second block is immediately to the right, behind a few boxes. And the third Energy Block is sitting in the sand on the other side of the room.

Use the three Energy Blocks to open up the locked door in the room, then you’ll need to collect three more of them in the next room. Each block you grab will help you reach the next one.

Pick up the first one on the other side of the door and use it to open up a gate on your right to access the second Energy Block.

After you’ve collected the first two, use them both to open a second gate that leads to the third Energy Block. The gate is on the other side of the room and looks exactly like the previous gate.

Once you have all three Energy Blocks, fall through the yellow, cylindrical barrier in the middle of the room and descend to the bottom level. Then, place one block in each of the marked pillars. The three quest markers will show you exactly where to use them.

advertisem*nt

A scene will play as the Ruin Golem regains power. Use the switch on the floor to reach the top level of the Ruin Gelem interior and enter the spherical co*ckpit at the center of the room.

Follow Azariq’s instructions as you pilot the giant robot. The game will do all of the work for you until you’re automatically kicked out of the co*ckpit twice. After the second time, you’ll need to find two more Energy Blocks – one on a walkway and the other next to a nearby doorway.

Once you grab both of them, bring them to the pillars on either side of the room to power up the Ruin Golem’s arms. The quest markers will show you exactly where the pillars are.

Return to the co*ckpit to regain control of the Ruin Golem. This time, you’ll need to aim a punch yourself. Punch the glowing spot in the rock face to open up a hole. Follow the quest markers to exit through the arm and enter the newly-opened cave.

Activate the first Pipe Diverter Valve you see along the way and continue down the marked path until a scene plays in a new room. It’s time to solve another puzzle.

Interact with the blue Primal Ember to the left of the stairs and follow it up to the second level. Once it’s inside the next pedestal, hit the nearby Rune Mechanism (without moving it) to clear the sand away from a Pipe Diverter Valve. Activate the valve to fill the Cascade Pool with sand.

Next, interact with the newly-unlocked Pipe Diverter Valve sitting next to the giant Cascade Pool. Now you can move the Rune Mechanism and hit it again to clear more sand away. The wind will uncover a switch along with the Primal Torch that belongs the Primal Ember.

Hit the switch to turn off the giant fan, then guide the Primal Ember back to the torch to finish up this puzzle.

advertisem*nt

With the puzzle complete, drop down into a hole in the floor found at the top-left corner of the image above. You’ll find a Remarkable Chest and a switch to open another door. Go through the door to return to the first room.

Immediately turn left and walk past Azariq to find a Pipe Diverter Valve tucked away in a corner. Activate it to unlock a switch that’ll open the door on the other side of the room.

Head through the door and follow the path until you get to the quest marker and trigger a scene. After the conversation is done, head through the door that Paimon pointed out. Your goal here is to reconnect the junctions where the broken pipes are.

You should be inside a room with a barrier and a Rune Mechanism. Hit the Rune Mechanism and move it to uncover the door switch buried beneath some sand. This will lead to another room with yet another wind-related puzzle.

Interact with the Rune Mechanism on the right side of the Cascade Pool by hitting it three times to uncover the mechanism on the left side. Hit the one on the left twice to uncover a Pipe Diverter Valve. Use the valve to unlock the barrier from the previous room.

Follow the staircase down until you come to a room with a Primal Ember inside. Guide it to its Primal Torch to fix the Pipe Diverter Valve. The valve will reconnect the junction.

After the quick scene, follow the quest marker up the stairs and past a new Teleport Waypoint. Continue along the path and guide the Primal Ember to its Primal Torch. You’ll find Liloupar’s next fragment below the room full of Primal Torches. Open the door in front of you once the scene ends.

For the next puzzle, turn the cell to reach the next Primal Ember, then immediately turn the cell again to keep the ember from being blown away by the fan. Guide the emeber back to its torch to unlock the switch in the Primal Torch room.

advertisem*nt

Activate the switch, then follow the quest marker to reach your next objective. You can choose to explore here, but your goal is to reach the bottom of the huge hole in the floor. Eventually, you’ll need to activate a Pipe Diverter Valve to continue.

Activate the valve, then interact with the yellow mechanism at the center of the platform below – just like the end of the previous section of this quest. Waves of Primal Constructs and Fungi will attack, so be ready.

After the fight, exit the area and speak to Jeht after the next scene to automatically return to the surface.

Completion Rewards:

  • x50 Primogems
  • x5 Hero’s Wit
  • x450 Adventure EXP
  • x50,000 Mora
  • x4 Mystic Enhancement Ore

Dune-Entombed Fecundity: Part III

This is the next long section of The Dirge of Bilqis World Quest, but we’ll finally be stepping foot in the Eternal Oasis. Head to the quest marker near the Ruin Golem to get this section started. You’ll automatically be transported back into the giant robot’s co*ckpit.

Take control, then use the ‘fire’ button to move. Another scene will start up before you regain control of the robot. This time, aim for the shining spot to destroy the rocks and open up a pathway.

Leave the pilot cabin and drop down to trigger another scene where Azariq gives off even more suspicious vibes – something he’s been doing throughout the entire quest. He finally reveals his true intentions and a fight breaks out.

advertisem*nt

You’ll need to take down a group of Eremites, including Azariq. With Jeht’s help, this shouldn’t be a problem. These are all fairly regular Eremite enemies. Another scene will start after the predictable betrayal, and the group will be standing outside the Ruin Golem. Walk forward to get sucked into another fight – this time, with the Fatui.

Once all the fighting is over and done with, go back inside the Ruin Golem. Follow the quest markers deeper underground, making sure to unlock the Teleport Waypoint along the way.

You’ll eventually come to a room with an Exquisite Chest in the center. Walk into the room on the left, then activate the Pipe Diverter Valve to fill the Cascade Pool on the back wall. A Primal Ember will also appear to your left.

Guide the Primal Ember to its next pedestal, then activate the next Pipe Diverter Valve. Continue to guide the ember through the now-opened door at the bottom of the staircase. We’ve made it to another cell puzzle room.

To open the chest, rotate both cells in the room so that they’re both shooting beams into the Dual-Phase Neverlight Cell in the middle of the room.

To open the barrier, rotate the cell on the right side of the image above so that it’s hitting the Dual-Phase Neverlight Cell in front of the barrier.

Once the barrier is down, interact with the Pipe Diverter Valve on the other side. This will then unlock another valve for you to interact with. Activate both, then continue following the Primal Ember.

In the next room, hit the switch to shut down the barrier, then guide the Primal Ember to its Primal Torch to make a Common Chest appear. Activate the Pipe Diverter Valve in this same room, then follow the markers back to where you started.

advertisem*nt

The quest guidance will take you all the way to Liloupar’s third fragment, along with a Dendroculus.

You know what comes next – time to defend the yellow mechanism on a large platform. This time, Primal Constructs and serpents will show up for battle. After the enemies are defeated, exit the area and follow the markers to reach another platform.

Liloupar’s sister, Ferigees, is at the center of the platform and you’ll need to fight her along with several other enemies.

Fergiees will be protected by a shield, but destroying the Primal Constructs around her will get rid of it – take down the constructs and Ferigees to win this one.

With Ferigees defeated, step into the center of the platform to be taken to the Eternal Oasis. As soon as you see all of the green plant life, this part of the quest will end.

Completion Rewards:

  • x50 Primogems
  • x3 Hero’s Wit
  • x400 Adventure EXP
  • x40,000 Mora
  • x6 Mystic Enhancement Ore

The Eternal Dream, Ever Lush

This final section of the quest takes place entirely in the Eternal Oasis – no exploration or puzzle-solving is required. Collect Liloupar’s final fragment at the base of the large tree.

With her final fragment, Liloupar can now either suppress or summon sandstorms at Jinn Shrines.

advertisem*nt

Talk to Jeht and Liloupar to hear their thoughts on what you’ve found in the Eternal Oasis. Speak with Jeht one last time to leave the oasis – you can return whenever you’d like, so you won’t miss anything here.

Report back to Babel in the Tanit camp to let her know what you found. She’ll offer you the chance to pick your reward.

You can choose to receive extra Mora or a four-star Artifact. You can also just say something nice about Jeht’s birthday and receive nothing at all.

Completion Rewards:

  • x20 Primogems
  • x150 Adventure EXP
  • x25,000 Mora

Congrats on finishing up another long World Quest in the Sumeru desert. Jeht’s story with the Tanit doesn’t seem to be over even though she said a proper goodbye to her parents, so we may see more of her in future updates. As an extra aside, you can see Babel’s potentially ominous thoughts about the Eternal Oasis if you use Nahida’s Elemental Skill on her at the end of the quest.
